In a help forum on Sky’s website, the customer wrote: “I have a Sky Glass TV and a Sky puck at home.

“I have just purchased a static holiday home/caravan and have broadband getting installed to the van.

“If I buy another Sky puck for £39.95 from Sky, can I use this in the caravan as part of my package?”

The answer? A resounding no.

Even though your subscription offers you an unlimited number of pucks for your home, they must reside at one address.

Otherwise, this is a breach of Sky’s contract.

Your subscription can only be used at your registered home address.

In the terms and conditions of contracts, Sky writes: “If you or any other person uses any of the TV services or your account anywhere other than your address, you will be in breach of this contract.

“As such, we may either suspend your TV services or charge you an Additional Location Charge for use at that other address based on the price of your subscription at your address.

“We will notify you before taking any action or applying that additional charge to your account.”

Is there away around this rule?

Sky tracks the data from its telly boxes and the Wi-Fi you use to determine whether you’re accessing its services at your home address.

So, any rule flaunters will be disappointed to know that it’s likely you’ll be caught out if you try it.

However, Sky created its Sky Go app so you don’t need to risk it.

The Sky Go app has all the shows you usually watch on the telly, all in one app, and is designed for ‘on-the-go’ viewing.

You can access this app anywhere with broadband, be it in a caravan or holiday home in the tropics.

Sky customers can easily watch telly on their iPhone or Android devices, or alternatively use a gaming console or smart TV to watch their usual favourites on the big screen.
