SKY is rolling out a number of big upgrades to its massive TV offering, including one change that footie fans will love.

The dreaded delay when watching crucial matches is set to improve massively in an upcoming software update for Sky Glass and Sky Stream.

Sky has managed to reduce the latency by over 20 seconds so you’ll be able to catch the action as it happens before mates spoil it with WhatsApp messages.

That should now leave the delay gap to about 8 seconds only.

Low latency will come to Sky Sports Main Event first before rolling out to other Sky Sports channels.

But the latest bunch of upgrades aren’t just for football fans.

Gamers will also benefit from Auto Game Mode on Sky Glass, offering a more responsive gaming experience.

The broadcasting giant has made a number of software changes, particularly around recommendations.

Playlists, which allow each member of the household to keep track of their favourite shows, will soon feature fun avatars.

They’ll start with popular cartoons before introducing other images like sports personalities.

A personalised genre rail will now appear based on what you’ve been watching.

And you will be able to follow your favourite actors and actresses too, so any new content they appear in will appear on your page.

To help viewers with their choices, Rotten Tomatoes scores will now appear next to titles.

A much-loved feature on Sky Q is coming to Sky Glass and Sky Stream as well.

Users will finally be able to use the voice remote to say “Hello Sky, rewind”.

“Hello Sky, add to Playlist” is another new command added.

Elsewhere, Ultra HD on demand content will have the option for subtitles by the end of the summer, followed by audio description.
