By 10:30am, almost 700 issues had been logged through Down Detector.

However, Sky has confirmed to The Sun that the issue has now been resolved.

Users took to social media to complain about the service.

One user said: “Get your internet sorted, losing business as a result of your outage.”

Another said: “Sky broadband is down in east London, I’m just tired at this point.”

Sky apologised on Twitter and advisers customers to check their connectivity user its service status tool.

It replied to one upset customer: “Good morning, sorry to see you’re having problems with your Sky Broadband connection.

(AD) How to find the best broadband for your needs

BROADBAND options can vary hugely by provider, and you could save money by shopping around.

How can I contact Sky and am I entitled to compensation?

If you’re suffering issues with your internet, call or mobile services then you may be entitled to compensation.

You’ll need to make sure you report the outage so your provider is aware of the problem, but then you will likely be entitled to compensation automatically.

The Automatic Compensation Scheme means broadband and landline customers get their money back from their provider when things go wrong.

You don’t have to ask for it, and it should just be given to you automatically.

Internet firms usually pay out £8 for each day that broadband and phone service is not repaired after two full days of no service.

This is not the first time this year Sky customers have been left without a connection.

The firm suffered broadband issues in August and September too.
