Whether it’s a picnic, a knees-up or something smaller, thankfully these deals will do the trick  . . .

DECORATIONS: Card Factory has some excellent budget options. Get the Thank You latex star balloon for £3.99 or the Thank You helium balloon for just £2.49. I love the John Lewis Ginger Ray rainbow balloon arch for £25 but get the DIY Rainbow balloon garland kit for £14.99 at Card Factory.

SAVE: £10.01 on a balloon arch

FOOD: Pick up party snacks at Morrisons, which has a host of tasty deals.
Pre-made savoury party platters are £6, or two for £10, while sweet grazing platters including doughnuts start at £4 — available at Market Street Cake Shop. I love the M&S Ta-daaa! rainbow celebration cake at £15, but you can make your own for less and add a cake topper. I found them on Etsy, with prices from £4.99.

SAVE: £2 on platters and around £10 by baking your own cake

CARDS: Say it in writing. B&M has a wonderful selection of thank you cards starting at just 59p but Poundland has thank you cards for just 25p each, which is a real steal. You could also reward people with a free certificate of thanks from thankyouday.org.uk. Print out the colour-in templates and get your little ones to choose who to give it to.

SAVE: 34p on the card

GIFTS: Studio.co.uk does a great selection of gifts that can be personalised at no extra cost, including a Thank You sweet box for £14.99. Home Bargains has a great selection, such as the personalised diamond paperweight for £7.99 (RRP £19.99). A personalised wine glass is a lovely idea, but instead of the £12 version from notonthehighstreet.com, go to keepitpersonal.co.uk, where prices start at £6.95.

SAVE: £5.05 on wine glass
