As the UK faces a blanket of fresh snow this week, residents are noticing chillier temperatures too.

And if you want to save on energy bills, you’ll need to snatch up every gadget you can to keep from turning the heating on too much.

Luckily, shoppers have found a £38.25 electric blanket from Silentnight, posted to Hotukdeals.

It’s a Yours and Mine Dual Control Electric Blanket made from cosy fleece. It comes with two controllers offering three heat settings, down from £45 with the discount.

Hotukdeals shared the code BEDDING15 which will give you 15% off when you buy the blanket.

However, don’t forget about added delivery costs if you’re getting one sent to your home.

Fees may differ depending on what you buy and how far away you live.

But do look in places like Argos, which sell products from the company. You can look at the site locator tool on the Silentnight website to see which stores might stock what you want.

Always shop around as well in case you miss an even better deal elsewhere.

You can use comparison tools like PriceRunner or Google Shopping to have a look at prices from similar retailers.

It used to be £35, so you save £10.50.

It also includes three heat settings and it’s machine-washable, and you also get free delivery if you order within seven days.

It has three heat settings and only takes five minutes to heat up.

How much does it cost to use an electric blanket?

How much it costs is not the same for everyone – it depends on your energy provider, how much energy you use and which model of blanket you own.

And don’t forget the price cap is set hit £3,000 next month, so the cost will go up.

But right now, according to Uswitch, it costs 24p to run a 100W electric blanket for one hour a day for seven days.

If you were to use an electric blanket for one hour a day, every day of the week for a year, it would cost you £12.48 in total.

It means using an electric blanket instead of turning the heating up can save you cash off your bill.

Other ways to save on your bill

Similarly, turning your thermostat down by just 1°C can save you as much as £80 a year, according to experts from Uswitch.

You might be eligible for grants and schemes like the Warm Home Discount too, which awards anyone who’s eligible an extra £150 during the colder months.
