SHOPPERS are dashing to their nearest Aldi in order to pick up the new Prime sports drinks.

The £1.99 viral drink was created by YouTube stars KSI and Logan Paul and is selling for a limited time only.

Aldi is stocking the sports drink in a new exclusive deal – and customers are going into a frenzy.

It was originally only sold through Asda outlets in the UK.

Demand for the item is so huge that it’s only one available flavour per customer, causing them to enter queues from the early hours of the morning.

One shopper posted to Facebook before 8am, writing: “Queuing at Aldi for Prime like the tip dad I am.”

Another wrote to Facebook group Aldi UK Shoppers: “Queuing for a hour already all for Prime. What we do for kids.”

One tweeted: “I am in a queue for Aldi opening in 40 mins. My son assured me there is Prime being sold here today.”

And one more fan from the shoppers group posted to say they’d been queuing since 6am, joking: “When’s the first bus to get there for opening?”

According to social media posts, the queues are reaching parts of London, Norton, Plymouth and Pontypridd in Wales.

Advertised as a “hydration drink”, Prime contains mostly water added with vitamins and minerals and has few calories with no added sugar.

It is also made up of coconut water but does not have any caffeine in it.

The drink’s popularity grew after YouTube stars Logan Paul and KSI promoted the drink around high-profile celebrity boxing bouts in the UK.

The duo came up with the idea for coconut water-based Prime Hydration after their final boxing match in 2019.

During a live stream, the pair said they wanted to “rival the biggest companies on earth” with their products – including “Pepsi, Coke, Gatorade and Powerade”.

The drinks are selling in 11 flavours – including blue raspberry, tropical punch and grape – but what you get very much depends on what’s still in stock at your nearest store.

You can search for your local branch on the Aldi website.

Of course do bear in mind that with this many people queuing the drinks may be out of stock by the time you get there.

It also might be worth phoning ahead to check stock to avoid disappointment.

After all, the craze is growing, with one savvy punter selling a “rare” bottle for a whopping £1,000.

One pub owner is accepting the drinks as payments in hopes the product’s price will soar once supply dries out.

It also comes as shoppers last week stood in virtual queues for Aldi’s Kevin the Carrot toy – joining from 4am in some cases.

The toys were released as part of the discount supermarket’s Christmas campaign featuring the character.

Prices started from £3.99 for the festive favourites.
