SHOPPERS are being asked to shell out £110 for a Heinz ketchup lid.

They are sold online, with the ketchup, by the Wolf & Badger and Ware Collective websites.

A description says they are made “in Birmingham’s renowned silver quarter”.

But the hefty price tag was trashed by shoppers, with one saying: “Maybe they meant £1.10?”

Another said: “The world has officially gone mad.”

And a third said: “Brilliant until someone chucks the bottle in the recycling including the £110 lid because it’s empty.”

For shoppers with even more money than sense, the sites also flog pricier silver lids for Bovril, Marmite, Colman’s Mustard and Golden Shred Marmalade — with one for jars of Nutella priced at £250.
