SHOPPERS are only just realising an iconic brand has slashed prices by 70% before disappearing from the high street forever.
Cath Kidston’s central London store has launched a huge closing down sale.

Stock is going for up to 70% off before the shop shuts its doors for good.
And shoppers have just noticed the sale and one took to Facebook’s Extreme Couponing & Bargains page to share her find.
She said: “Massive closing down sale at Cath Kidston. Good deals online and in store.
“Bought a basket style bag for £16.50 rather than £55! This was in central London.”
Fans took to the comments to share their thoughts with some only just realising it’s closing down.
One said: “Ah this makes me so sad – an iconic British brand sold out to China, closing every store down except a select few and being online, to now closing down and being taken over by Next – exactly the same as Joules last year.”
While another wrote: “Will we have any stores left at this rate? I especially dislike online shopping for clothes.”
In March, Next agreed to buy Cath Kidston, known for its kitsch floral designs, out of administration.

The high street giant bought the brand name, domain names and intellectual property for the business for £8.5million.
But the four remaining standalone Cath Kidston stores are still set to close.
The four standalone stores that will close within weeks are in:
- Piccadilly, London
- Ashford, Kent
- Cheshire Oaks, Ellesmere Port
- York Outlet, York
Plus, two concession stores in Colne and Sheffield, will be pulling down the shutters for good.
Some shoppers have pointed out that some stock was priced pretty high before so the discounts don’t make a huge difference.
Make sure to take advantage of the biggest savings and shop around for the best items.
Also, always factor in delivery charges when shopping online.
The website will continue to operate as normal until no later than June 20.
Next’s most recent takeover of Cath Kidston is the latest in several takeover deals for struggling brands.
In November last year, it bought furniture store Made.com, which sold its intellectual property, brand and website to the retailer.
Next started selling Gap clothing online in late 2021 too, after it took over the running of the high street brand.
Cath Kidston was founded in 1993, and first collapsed into administration in April 2020 with 60 UK stores closing and 908 jobs lost.
But it has still been trading online and the four standalone stores have continued to operate.
The brand was set up by designer Cath Kidston and had more than 200 outlets around the world at its peak.
Cath Kidston isn’t the only shop chain holding huge closing down sales recently.
Before the B&M in Bishop Auckland closed, it too held a big 50% off sale with customers calling it “absolutely unreal”.
