Tesco’s loyalty scheme doesn’t just get you money off in store – the points you earn can be used elsewhere.

And bargain-hunters have shared how you can get a cinema ticket for a fraction of the usual price.

Posting on HotUKDeals, a user said they had booked five Cineworld tickets using just £6 of Clubcard points.

The poster said they had used Clubcard to convert £1 of points into £3 to spend at the cinema.

To boost that, shoppers can the take advantage of a deal with the movie chain.

Here’s how it works.

How do I get the voucher?

According to Clubcard, you can convert every 50p of your vouchers into £1.50 to use with Cineworld.

First you’ll need to go to the cinema chain’s website to find your nearest screen and check the prices.

You then select the amount of Clubcard vouchers you’d like to exchange.

When you’ve completed your order, you’ll get two emails: one is a confirmation, and the other contains your Partner code.

Or, if you placed the order in the Clubcard app, your code will appear in the ‘My Rewards’ section.

To redeem the code, simply click the link in the email to go to the Cineworld website and enter the code when asked.

If you ticket costs more, you’ll have to pay the difference – but if it’s less, you won’t get the extra voucher money back.

Watch out for added extras too – you’ll have to pay a booking fee.

When we checked, tickets at Cineworld Wakefield were £9.99 for adults and £5.99 for children at a standard format film with a booking fee of 75p per person.

At the branch in Crawley, a standard adult ticket was £12.99 and children £6.99, also with a booking fee of 75p a ticket.

But there’s an added bonus for film buffs this week – Cineworld is offering reduced price tickets on Saturday, February 26.

For one day only, tickets for all films in any format will be just £3.

That means if you’re buying a ticket using your Clubcard points for this Saturday, it’ll cost you just £1 plus the booking fee.

So if you’ve got a hankering to see the latest blockbuster on a budget, you’ll have to act fast.

How does Tesco Clubcard work and what will I get?

Of course, you don’t have to spend your Clubcard points at the cinema.

The loyalty scheme gets you one point for every £1 you spend in-store or online, and one point for every £2 spent on fuel.

If you’re using Tesco Bank’s Clubcard Pay+, a prepaid debit card, you can even get double the number of points.

Once you’ve got at least 150 points, you can start to convert them into vouchers.

Clubcard holders can triple the value of their points with particular retailers at certain times of the year.
