APPLE has launched a surprise selection of gadgets just in time for Christmas.

The iPhone maker has unveiled a redesigned iPad, a next-gen iPad Pro and a brand new Apple TV.

Apple showed off the gadgets via its website – no fancy event this time around – but there’s still plenty to get excited about.

Redesigned iPad 2022

Apple has revamped its entry-level iPad with the newer all-screen look.

It’s got a large 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display, and a powerful A14 Bionic chip on board.

That’s the same processor that powered the impressive iPhone 12 Pro.

The camera system has been updated with an Ultra Wide 12-megapixel selfie shooter and a new 12-megapixel back camera.

There’s a USB-C port for charging and an option to upgrade the iPad with 5G.

You can also bag a new Magic Keyboard Folio that features a trackpad if you’re willing to spend an extra $249/£249.

The new iPad itself costs $449/£499, and comes in a fancy array of new colours.

They include blue, pink, yellow and silver.

New iPad Pro with M2 chip

Next up is a powerful new iPad Pro, which now packs the impressive M2 chip.

That’s the processor that debuted this year in Apple’s new MacBook Pro.

It’s a ludicrously speedy laptop-grade chip that will inevitably bring exceptional power to the new iPad Pro.

Apple says that it’s 15% more powerful than the M1, with 35% faster graphics to boot.

There’s also a new “hover” experience for the Apple Pencil stylus.

The pencil can now be detected up to 12mm above the display.

This will let you see a preview of your mark before you make it.

And Apple’s new iPad Pro also supports speedier WiFi connections including WiFi 6E, offering download speeds right up to 2.4Gb/s (if your provider can deliver it).

The 11-inch model starts at $799/£899, while the 12.9-inch iPad Pro will set you back at least $1,099/£1,249.

New Apple TV 4K

Last but not least is the next-generation Apple TV 4K.

It’s not actually a TV: like before, it’s a set-top box that plugs in to your telly. The name is confusing, admittedly.

It’s got an A15 Bionic chip on board – yes, the one from the iPhone 13 Pro.

This promises “faster performance and more fluid gameplay”, according to Apple.

You’ll be able to get support for stunning HDR10+ video and Dolby Vision.

And it’ll run on the latest version of tvOS.

You can bag it in two configurations: WiFi with 64GB of storage, or WiFi with ethernet and 128GB of storage.

It’s available from Friday, November 4 for $129/£149.
