Last week, WSJ. Magazine premiered its first virtual Innovator Awards ceremony, honoring visionaries in a variety of fields that include Architecture, Television, Philanthropy and more. In years past, the ceremony took place at the Museum of Modern Art, but due to Covid-19 constraints, the ceremony was held virtually this year and was open to all to attend. The cover stories from our November issue have since gone live online, featuring Entertainment Innovator Tyler Perry, Architecture Innovator MASS Design Group, Music Innovator BTS, Television Innovator Michaela Coel, Literature Innovator Patti Smith, Art Innovator Titus Kaphar, Philanthropy Innovator Darren Walker and Pop Culture Innovator Jennifer Lopez. The November issue hits newsstands on November 21.

To soundtrack your Innovators reading, check outWSJ.’s Innovators 2020 playlist, featuring songs created by or associated with the work of the ceremony’s honorees and presenters. Groove to tracks performed by BTS, Patti Smith, Jennifer Lopez, Maluma and Swizz Beatz or take in some of the tunes from films by Tyler Perry and Michaela Coel’s HBO series, I May Destroy You.
