Former Harvey Nichols boss Stacey Cartwright has been named the new chairman of upmarket estate agent Savills.
Cartwright is the first woman to take on the role at the 168-yearold firm and will replace Nicholas Ferguson in the New Year.
She has been serving on the Savills board since 2018 as an independent director.

She inherits the post at a time when the FTSE 250 group has seen profits plunge. In an update to the market, Savills said profits hit £6million for the first half of the year, down from £50million in the same period last year.
It comes as the property market continues to slow.
The group saw revenue for the six months to the end of June slip 3 per cent to £1.01billion, which bosses credited as a good result having ‘weathered both the inflationary cost conditions and reduced transaction volumes well, increasing market share’.
And in positive news for investors, the group increased its interim dividend to 6.9p. Shares slumped nearly 11 per cent to 885p
