This app is built into modern Samsung televisions, and serves free TV supported by ads.

Samsung says that its library currently includes more than 350 live channels.

On its website, Samsung boasts: “No credit card. No contract. No cables.”

This is updated regularly with new channels, so it’s always worth checking to see what else you’re getting for free.

The list of five new channels is as follows:

  • MLB – focused on Major League Baseball replays and recaps
  • PGA TOUR – golfing documentaries, behind-the-scenes footage, highlights, recaps, and competitions
  • AHL – live American Hockey League games
  • Formula One Channel – analysis, replays, and documentaries for F1, F2, F3, and F1 Academy races
  • ONE Championship TV – combat sports highlights, series, and behind-the-scenes television

It’s worth noting that Samsung TV Plus also offers on-demand content.

Samsung says the app delivers “thousands of movies and shows” for free this way.

“No subscription, additional device, or credit card needed.”

Just remember that you’ll need an internet connection to stream.

So if you’re watching via a mobile phone and you’re not on Wi-Fi, it will use up your data allowance.

Your smartphone will also need to be running Android 8.0 or later to get the app.

  • It’s known locally as a “chaebol”, which means “business conglomerate”
  • It was founded by Lee Byung-chul in 1938 as a trading company
  • But over several decades, it branched out into food processing, insurance, textiles and retail
  • It wasn’t until the late 1960s when Samsung entered the electronics industry – for which it’s best known in the West today
  • It also launched businesses in construction and shipbuilding in the 1970s
  • Today, Samsung’s most important sources of income are its smartphones and computer chips
  • The firm accounts for around a fifth of South Korea’s total exports, and roughly 17% of the country’s GDP
  • More than 270,000 staff are employed by Samsung globally
  • And in 2023, Samsung Electronics turned over the equivalent of $194 billion in revenue

The app is called Samsung TV Plus, and can be downloaded from both the Galaxy Store and Google Play Store.
