SAMSUNG owners are being offered a new backup service that lets users store files in the cloud for one month free of charge.
Users can store any file, such as images or videos, in the cloud – even top-secret files documents inside the Secure Folder – as long as they are under 100GB each.
The feature is rolling out to all Galaxy devices running One UI 6.0 or later in the coming weeks.
Despite the size restriction, users still get a lot of wiggle room.
It will, of course, keep those pesky ‘low storage’ pop-ups at bay.
But it will, more so, offer peace of mind for customers, according to Samsung.

Whether you’re commuting or white water rafting, it’s nice to know that if anything happens to your phone, your precious memories are still retrievable.
Users simply need to decide which memories or documents are most valuable to them, and choose to upload them into the new Temporary Cloud Backup system.
That way, users can pull these memories out of the cloud and back onto another Samsung device within the 30 day time frame.
The process will also require two-factor authentication, so your private files cannot be nabbed by any cyber crooks.

There is a big catch, however.
What Samsung has made very clear to customers is that this service is strictly temporary.
Once the 30-day waiting period is up, the files inside the Temporary Cloud Backup system will be deleted forever.
Though it’s important to note that this time limit refers to each file individually.
So, be sure to figure out a long-term solution for these files, be it on your PC or a USB.
