SAMSUNG rival Honor has shown off a brand new smartphone that allows users to control a car with their eyes.
The tech brand demonstrated how its Magic6 Pro handset can make a car move simply by looking at buttons on the screen.
It uses clever eye-tracking technology and AI to determine where the person is looking.
In a pre-recorded video at a big unveiling in Barcelona, phone fanatics were shown an app with four commands, including engine start, engine stop, backward and forward.
For now it’s just an “experimental concept” and there’s no indication whether this car feature will ever be made available to handset holders when the Magic6 Pro is released.
But in the near future, users will eventually be able to carry out other tasks without lifting a finger.

The firm claims the tool can tell when you’re looking at a notification on its “Magic Capsule” which is Honor’s version of the iPhone‘s Dynamic Island.
“When you use the eye to look at that, they can open the apps,” Honor boss George Zhao said.
“You know, that is very difficult.
“The [Apple] Vision Pro, the camera is close to the eyes, around four to five centimetres [away] but for Honor we can support 20 to 30 centimetres.”

He added that the capability will be opened up to developers so they can implement it within their own apps.
In a demo, it showed how a woman was able to stare at a snippet of the Uber app and open the full app by changing the direction of her gaze.
The year of AI
The feature is made possible with the Qualcomm AI Engine and speedy Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset which go big on enabling such features.
It comes amid a huge focus on AI this year, after Samsung revealed the Galaxy S24 series which can do advanced tasks like translate calls in real-time and change the tone of your messages for you.
Honor also announced other AI features for the Magic6 Pro including a so-called Magic Portal which can detect details in texts and decide the appropriate app for it, for example addresses will go straight to Google Maps.
Aside from all the AI, the new Android smartphone boasts some camera upgrades.
180-megapixel telephoto camera lens with 2.5x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom have been introduced, alongside a 50-megapixel ultra wide camera and a 50-megapixel main camera.
Honor has also worked on the battery, enabling the Magic6 Pro to charge to 100 per cent in 40 minutes.
