Samsung phone owners are just realising there’s a free little-known button that lets you take calls with NO signal

GONE are the days where you need to worry about making a phone call or sending a text when you’re in an area with patchy mobile signal.

Most smartphones these days – including Samsung handsets – have the ability to make calls and send messages via the internet.

Essentially, calls are rerouted through a Wi-Fi connection instead of relying on signal.

It will feel the same as a regular call.

If this is news to you, then you’ve been missing out.

It’s been tucked away on your device this whole time – you just need to switch it on.

Simply follow these steps:

1. Launch the Settings app.
2. Go into Connections.
3. Toggle Wi-Fi Calling on or off.
4. Additionally, you can further customize the experience by tapping on Wi-Fi Calling.
5. Select Calling Preference.
6. Pick between Wi-Fi preferred or Mobile network preferred.

Alternatively, you can turn it on inside the phone app.

1. Launch the Phone app.
2. Tap on the three-dot menu icon in the top-right corner.
3. Hit Settings.
4. Toggle Wi-Fi Calling on or off.
5. Additionally, you can further customize the experience by tapping on Wi-Fi Calling.
6. Select Calling Preference.
7. Pick between Wi-Fi preferred or Mobile network preferred.

However, it’s important to note that having Wi-Fi calling switched on means you may accidentally make calls using your mobile data.

Going over your mobile data limit can be pretty costly – so watch out, and make sure you’re on a Wi-Fi network instead of using 3G/4G.
