Sales at pubs, restaurants and bars jumped close to a tenth on pre-pandemic levels of September 2019 – their second successive month of increases, according to data from CGA.
It said total sales had now surpassed levels before the pandemic and were 8 per cent higher than in September 2019 and 42 per cent higher than September 2020.
The ‘significant bounce’ was strongest outside London where businesses saw revenues soar 12 per cent, while in the capital sales actually dropped by 1 per cent.
