When is Sainsburys open over the early May Bank Holiday?

Sainsbury’s stores will be open as usual on Sunday May 30, which means you can shop from roughly 10am to 4pm.

On Bank Holiday Monday, most larger stores will only be open from 7am to around 9pm – but it depends on the store size so you’ll want to check with Sainsburys locator tool for your local opening hours.

The bank holiday timings mean you’ll have, on average, three hours less time to shop because stores will normally stay open until 11pm on a regular day.

On Tuesday, times will return to normal, so you’ll just have to make sure you know when your local shop shuts on Monday to avoid disappointment on the day.

Is Sainsburys delivering over the Bank Holiday?

You can get a home delivery with Sainsburys this Bank Holiday weekend.

For Sunday and Monday deliveries the store has ample one hour options, that cost between £2 and £4.50 depending on the time of day.

You can also opt for one of the £1 saver slots if you want to save a bit of money – and they’re also available even on the Bank Holiday.

If you’re lucky you can nab one of the spots that means your delivery fee is only £1, but you’ll be given a more general time frame of when your shopping will arrive – usually of around four hours.

So this option could mean you spend your day-off waiting around for the Sainsburys delivery driver instead of enjoying time at home.

Even though it seems like a major saving, there’s a charge of £7 if you spend under £40 on your shop – so you’ll be spending at least £8 on a delivery from Sainsburys regardless.
