Britain says it will boost its support for Ukraine in the next financial year to £2.5bn, an increase of £200m on the previous two years

Rishi Sunak and Volodymyr Zelensky are set to hold a press conference in Ukraine this afternoon, after the UK government announced it was providing a new £2.5 billion in military aid package for the coming year.

A spokeswoman for the prime minister said that he wanted to make a visit to Kyiv his first foreign trip of the year to show the UK’s “unwavering support for Ukraine’s defences”.
