A car formerly owned and driven by big-screen star Rowan Atkinson is to be auctioned this weekend.
While Mr Bean may be known for his green Mini, Atkinson is a self-professed petrolhead who loves fast sports cars and is hoping to cash in on his nineties rally-replica Lancia Delta.
The performer’s 1993 Lancia HF Integrale Evo II hot hatch is estimated to sell for up to £75,000 at Silverstone Auctions’ classic car sale at Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire, on Saturday.
The car had covered just over 54,000 miles when, back in May 2021, it was purchased by Atkinson and has covered only a couple thousand more since.

The TV personality has spent thousands over the years maintaining the motor. In the last two years the petrolhead spent £8,000 on major services and another £1,800 on a respray.
Commenting on the availability of the car this weekend, a spokesperson for Silverstone Auctions said: ‘He has enjoyed many happy hours in the car, although the total mileage still remains below 90,000km (56,000 miles), and the history file confirms recent money well spent on keeping the little Lancia in such fabulous condition.’
And it’s not just the Mr Bean actor’s car being offered to the highest bidder at the Warwickshire auction.
Inspector Clouseau actor Peter Seller’s 1966 Lotus Elan S3-SE, which was delivered to his Haymarket in the year of its production, is also going under the hammer – as This is Money exclusively reported last month.
According to Silverstone Auctions it was driven by him with wife Britt Ekland in the passenger seat, until 1969.
The rare model, part of the Piddington Collection, is offered with a guide price of between £80,000 to £120,000.
The car has had only four owners with its very first being the Pink Panther star who purchased the vehicle on June, 22, 1966.
The legendary actor and comedian sadly passed away in 1980 and is regarded as being in the top 50 in the world for his acting and comedy.

Silverstone Auctions explain: ‘With zero miles since its superb restoration and over 60,000 miles from new, there is nothing to preclude using this ‘almost new’ S2 on a regular basis, or its next owner may choose to pop it into a private collection enjoying the Peter Sellers’ provenance, however, we can’t help but feel that a combination of the two might be best.’
The Silverstone Auctions Sale will take place on 25 February at the Race Retro Show in Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
