Former international development secretary says many of his parliamentary colleagues did not understand Brexit

Rory Stewart has criticised UK government incompetence in a scathing piece in which he describes himself and others as “grotesquely unqualified” for the roles they held.

In an article in the Guardian’s Saturday magazine the former international development secretary said many of his parliamentary colleagues did not understand the meaning of a customs union during Brexit negotiations.
