Football star David Beckham scored a much-needed win after positive news from two companies he backs.
Shares in Cellular Goods and Guild Esports have tumbled since listing in London, resulting in big paper losses for the former England captain.
But Cellular, which makes skincare and other wellness products infused with chemicals from cannabis plants, jumped 116.7 per cent, or 0.7p, to 1.3p after announcing a contract with beauty and cosmetics retailer Sephora to market its ‘Look Better’ range.

It will be the first cannabis-based skincare brand on Sephora’s UK website.
The share surge boosted Beckham, Cellular’s fourth-largest investor through DB Ventures, which owns a 3 per cent stake, worth around £195,000.
Beckham, married to former pop star Victoria, saw a positive update from Guild Esports, a competitive video game team in which he owns a 4.7 per cent share.
For the six months to the end of March, losses narrowed to £2.3million, from £5million the year before, and revenue rose to £3.7million, from £1.1million.
Shares rose 3.3 per cent, or 0.03p, to 0.78p, valuing Beckham’s stake at £191,673.
