According to DownDector, as many as 60,000 reports of issues flooded in at around 3pm EST.

Around 55 percent of reports complained of issues surrounding the app.

Another 33 percent of reports flagged problems with Reddit’s website.

Hours later, users were still complaining that comments wouldn’t load, and couldn’t fix it by deleting and uninstalling the app.

“So, what’s everyone doing while we wait?” Reddit said in another tweet.

According to RedditStatus.com, the site went down at 3.18 EST.

Two and a half hours later, Reddit officials confirmed that they have identified a fix for an internal systems issue which “may take some time to implement.”

“What’s your definition of soon… it’s been hours,” one upset user tweeted back at the company.

Another joking user said: “Just in time for us in the UK to go to sleep, thanks for that.”

“I was about to delete my app and reinstall. Do you know how lost I felt,” someone else tweeted.

Multiple people said they were in the midst of reading important comments about TV and video games when they suddenly stopped loading.

“Where else can I make witty comments about the 25-year-old TV show I am re-watching?” a different user teased.

Others claimed they were completely done with the app, and were tired of dealing with ongoing issues.

“Seems like there’s a minor outage every other day and a major one once a month,” someone wrote in the DownDetector comments.

The U.S. Sun has reached out to Reddit about the incident, and a spokesperson said they are still working on the issue.

At around 7.18pm EST, Reddit Status said officials “implemented out fix and are slowly allowing things to ramp back up.”
