For autumn, Ford’s Focus favourite has had a mid-life facelift that includes sharper body styling, new engine options and an improved infotainment system.
The new range starts at £22,465 for the Trend trim to £33,885 for the top-of-the-range ST hot hatch as it aims to keep pace with rivals such as the Volkswagen Golf.
Separate styling details for Titanium, STLine, Active and performance-focused ST versions include individual grille and fascia designs.

The Sync 4 infotainment system is centred on a 13.2in dashboard-mounted touchscreen. Ford says it means a ‘cleaner and less cluttered centre console’, though those who favour buttons and knobs might disagree.
The front seats offer greater support while the luggage compartment gains a carpet, an extra side-load net and twin LED lights, and adjustable load floor.
Corsa best-value car for learner drivers
Vauxhall’s Corsa is the best-value car for learner drivers, according to research by vehicle finance firm Moneybarn.com.
Taking into account average monthly repayments, insurance premiums, fuel costs, driving lessons and theory and practical driving tests, the Corsa clocks up an annual cost of £6,411.

It’s followed by the Renault Clio (£6,999), Vauxhall Astra (£7,039), Fiat 500 (£7,126), Toyota Yaris (£7,248) and Ford Fiesta (£7,269). To buy outright, Corsas start at £17,015, with monthly payments from £195.
