Radio host, who is leaving BBC after 46 years, speaks of his sadness at coming off air early before end of his contract

The radio presenter Ken Bruce has spoken of his sadness at coming off air early before his BBC contract ended, saying it “seems a shame” he could not complete his final month.

On his last day broadcasting at the BBC, he told the Today programme the decision was “entirely within the BBC’s right” but that “for the sake of 17 days, which was all that was remaining … it seems a shame.”
