King Charles will travel to Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales before Queen’s state funeral on Monday 19 September
As Queen Elizabeth II left her beloved Balmoral for a final time, the King was at Buckingham Palace receiving the Commonwealth secretary general and the high commissioners of the realms of which he is now head of state.
He will continue to carry out all his “necessary state duties”, but over the coming days, his “main focus” will be on leading the royal family, the nation, the realms and the Commonwealth in mourning the Queen, his spokesperson said.
