AS the nation has come to a standstill for the Queen’s funeral, Brits are wondering exactly what is closed for the bank holiday.

We told you about what time places like McDonald’s, Primark and Wetherspoon pubs open, but what about when your rubbish will be collected?

When are the bin collection dates over the Queen funeral bank holiday?

Councils are reminding people not to put their bins out on Monday, September 19, as they will not be collected on this day.

Local councils are suspending bin services on the bank holiday, to allow workers to mourn the loss of the late monarch.

The Royal Borough of Greenwich has said that the Queen’s funeral “takes precedence over working”.

Depending on where you live, this could mean your rubbish being collected before, or after the bank holiday.

However, this depends on your local council.

The changes to bin collections also vary depending on which type of bin it is – some councils are postponing the collection of recycling whilst bringing forward the collection of all other waste.

Again, you can check this online with your local council.

When are the Bank Holiday dates in 2022?

Brits would have enjoyed NINE bank holidays by the end of 2022.

It all started with the Substitute New Year’s Day on January 3.

Then we moved on to celebrate Good Friday on April 15 and Easter Sunday on April 17.

Shortly after, there was the Early May bank holiday on May 2.

After that, Britain prepared to have a four-day nationwide party to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee which commemorated the Queen’s 70-year reign on the throne.

The Summer Bank Holiday took place on Monday, August 29, 2022.

Since the Queen passed away on September 8, 2022, a bank holiday was scheduled to take place on the day of her funeral.

This means that there is a September bank holiday on Monday, September 19, 2022.

Brits will then have only two more bank holidays to celebrate before we bid farewell to 2022.

These will be Boxing Day on December 26 and the Christmas Substitute day on December 27, since the original holiday will be falling on a Sunday.
