PUBS will stay open for an extra two hours over the Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday so Brits can raise a glass to the Queen.

Licencing hours will be extended from 11pm to 1am from Thursday 2 to Saturday 4 June in England and Wales and will also cover nightclubs.

She said: “Over the extended Bank Holiday weekend, we will be able to raise a glass to toast Her Majesty’s incredible service to our country, while also providing a boost to the hospitality industry after a challenging couple of years.”

The Government and Buckingham Palace are planning an extensive programme of events in cities across the UK and the Commonwealth.

The Queen hopes as many people as possible will have the opportunity to join celebrations marking her Platinum Jubilee in 2022, Buckingham Palace has said.
