THE President of the crisis-hit CBI has told of his regret after it emerged he ran a student union which organised sleazy lunchtime strip shows.
The business lobby group’s chief Brian McBride denies organising the events in the 1970s.

But it is another huge embarrassment as it holds a crunch vote today to decide if it can recover from a series of scandals.
Mr McBride, 67, has spent the past month asking members to back the CBI in the face of sexual misconduct claims.
But The Sun can reveal that during his time in charge at Glasgow University men’s student union, they put on the lunchtime shows with female strippers for entertainment.
Newspaper cuttings from 1976 reveal the shows were strongly opposed by students who felt it reflected badly on the union — but Mr McBride was quoted as saying the matter was “out of his hands”.
It led to picket lines from furious protesters outside the men’s union.
Supporters of the shows claimed they were simply “anatomy lectures”.
But a former fellow student said: “It’s hypocritical for him to be talking about everything he’s doing to overhaul the CBI and behaviour when he did nothing to stop these strip shows while president of the university union.”
Mr McBride said: “I certainly did not play any part in organising.
