The post made to Instagram showed a picture of the cookies priced at £2.39 rather than £1.45 as shown in the picture posted to Facebook.

We checked on the website to try and get confirmation of the price, but the item isnt listed, so bear that in mind when you visit your local store.

What else is new?

Food fans are always discovering something new on the supermarket shelves.

Just this week, one eagle-eyed biscuit fan spotted a new peppermint Aero cookie in their local Co-op.

The sweet-toothed shopper shared a picture of the cookies with fellow snack lovers in the Food Fans UK official Facebook group.

Other snack lovers rushed to the comments to share their thoughts on the new find, and the post quickly racked up over 1k likes and 800 comments.

Meanwhile, Mars chocolate bar fans have been rushing to B&M to get their hands on a popular flavour that has made a comeback.

Honeycomb Salted Caramel Mars Bars are back in stores and fans can’t get enough of them.

Asda shoppers have also been eyeing up a limited edition sweet treat that’s back on shelves.

The supermarket giant is selling packs of five cherry doughnuts in its bakeries.

A picture of the doughnuts was shared on Facebook and one person tagged their pal and said: “Don’t know if you’ll remember but we had these a few years ago and they were amazing!”

Not being one to miss out on grabbing shoppers’ attention Marks and Spencer has also been delighting its customers with some newness.

It recently launched some new sweet pastries based on popular desserts.

The popular M&S Yumnuts now come in a brand new cream-filled edition.

How to save on your supermarket shop

THERE are plenty of ways to save on your grocery shop.

You can look out for yellow or red stickers on products, which show when they’ve been reduced.

If the food is fresh, you’ll have to eat it quickly or freeze it for another time.

Making a list should also save you money, as you’ll be less likely to make any rash purchases when you get to the supermarket.

Going own brand can be one easy way to save hundreds of pounds a year on your food bills too.

This means ditching “finest” or “luxury” products and instead going for “own” or value” type of lines.

Plenty of supermarkets run wonky veg and fruit schemes where you can get cheap prices if they’re misshapen or imperfect.

For example, Lidl runs its Waste Not scheme, offering boxes of 5kg of fruit and vegetables for just £1.50.

If you’re on a low income and a parent, you may be able to get up to £442 a year in Healthy Start vouchers to use at the supermarket too.

Plus, many councils offer supermarket vouchers as part of the Household Support Fund.
