Man, 43, released under investigation after car crashed into security gates

A man who was arrested after a car crashed into the gates of Downing Street has been released under police investigation, the Metropolitan police said.

The 43-year-old man had been taken into custody on Thursday on suspicion of criminal damage and dangerous driving after the incident, which police had said was not being treated as “terror related”.
