POKÉMON is one of the most popular series of all time, and it seems that the company can charge just about anything for its games.

A newly released Pokémon game sold out within minutes of pre-orders going live, despite its eye-watering price tag.

Playing on people’s nostalgia for the series which is almost 30 years old, Pokémon brought back all of the original monsters.

The original Pokémon Trading Card game launched in 1996, which is the same year that the first Pokémon video games were released in Japan.

While Pokémon Red & Blue wouldn’t make their way to the UK until 1999, the TV show meant that people were already hooked on the series.

Tapping into that nostalgia, Pokémon have released a deluxe set of the original trading card series, but it comes at a hefty price tag.

Selling at £400 ($400), the set includes three 60-card decks based on the three starter Pokémon from the original games.

People can choose to play using a deck based on Charizard, Blastoise or Venusaur, using cards from the original trading card game series.

The set comes with a number of accessories that trading card players use, such as damage counters, card sleeves and a game board.

However, fans were disappointed when the pricey Pokémon TCG Classic collection sold out within minutes of going live.

As you may expect, many copies are already on eBay, selling for far more than they originally cost from The Pokémon Center.

With prices going as high as £2000, it seems that not all copies of the collectible set made it into the hands of fans.

Prices for collectible items are rising all the time, and it’s not unusual to see collectibles like this sell for extraordinary prices.
