PLAYSTATION gamers can get their hands on a PS Plus membership for a fraction of the cost – but not everyone is eligible.

Between the 17 and 27 November, new subscribers can save up to a third on a 12-month membership that would usually cost £59.99.

While many are disappointed to be missing out of the Black Friday deal, money-savvy players have noted there is likely to be a similar sale to follow

Unfortunately, current members will lose out on the PS Plus Black Friday offer.

Players are not able to make any Black Friday savings by extending their membership – which has tripped up a number of keen customers.

“I’m so gutted by this, promo runs from 17-27th my subscription expires on the 28th,” one gamer wrote on HotUKDeals.

“That’s just cruel.”

However, existing subscribers can save 25 per cent when upgrading their current plan to PS Plus Extra.

Or, they can save a third when upgrading to the Premium/Deluxe tiers.

With PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium/Deluxe, gamers can discover hundreds of PS4 and PS5 games through the Game and Classics Catalogues.

This includes acclaimed titles like Horizon Forbidden West, Ghostwire: Tokyo and Sea of Stars.

With Sony’s recently launched streaming app, PlayStation Plus Premium/Deluxe members also gain access to the Sony Pictures Catalogue.

The platform hosts more than 100 movies to stream on demand, including the latest Spider-Man film and the Uncharted film, based on the PlayStation game series of the same name.

While many are disappointed to be missing out of the Black Friday deal, money-savvy players have noted that there is likely to be a similar sale to follow.

“There’ll be another sale in December, just catch that one but do it early as poss so that you don’t get hit by the same thing next year,” one player wrote.

Another added that the December/January sale has actually been “cheaper than Black Friday for the last two years”.

In any case, most folks are just happy to avoid the recent price hikes.
