When are the bin collection dates for the Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday?

The Jubilee bank holiday is set to be a weekend full of festivities and celebrations for everyone in the UK and the Commonwealth.

However, before we start partying it’s important to think about some of the less exciting things, like our bin collection dates.

Many local councils are making changes to bin collection dates to accommodate the Jubilee and give their refuse workers a hard earned break.

Depending on where you live, this could mean your rubbish being collected before, during, or after the bank holiday weekend.

To find out if your bin collection date has been changed, you can check with your local council by entering your postcode here.

When will my bin collection resume to normal days?

Normal bin collection should resume from Monday June 6, 2022, when the bank holiday weekend has ended.

However, this will depend on your local council, as some councils are postponing bin collections until after the weekend.

The changes to bin collections will also vary depending on which type of bin it is – some council’s are postponing collection of recycling whilst bringing forward the collection of all other waste.

Again, you can check this online with your local council.
