PIZZA Express is giving out free snowball dough balls to diners when it reopens its restaurants next week.

However, there is a small catch as you’ll need to purchase a main meal first to get your freebie.

Unlike garlic dough balls, snowball dough balls are actually a dessert and are covered in cinnamon and sugar.

They come served with a cinnamon and sugar coating and a side of vanilla cream.

Pizza Express will be giving out free portions of these tasty afters when it reopens 286 of its restaurants next week.

A further 16 restaurants will be open for delivery and click and collect only, but you can’t claim the free snowball dough balls at these locations.

Which Pizza Express restaurants will be open for delivery and click and collect?

PIZZA Express is opening 286 restaurants for dine-in next week – but the following locations have been confirmed as only open for delivery and click and collect.

You won’t be able to claim your free snowball dough balls at these restaurants, as they’re only available for dine-in customers.

  • Belfast, Ballyhackamore
  • Belfast, Lisburn Rd
  • Bristol, Cabot Circus
  • Cork
  • Belgrade Plaza, Coventry
  • Didsbury
  • Ranelagh, Dublin
  • Dun Laoghaire
  • Galway
  • Hale
  • Harborne
  • Headingley, Leeds
  • Limerick
  • Lincoln
  • King St, Nottingham
  • Sevenoaks

Pizza Express restaurants across England are currently closed for dine-in due to the four-week lockdown, but they remain open in Wales and Scotland.

The freebie will apply to all dine-in customers who visit a Pizza Express restaurant between December 2 and December 17. Use the Pizza Express store finder to locate your nearest diner.

To get your snowball dough balls, go to the offers page on the Pizza Express website to find a deal code.

Enter your postcode, find your nearest participating restaurant, and the code should appear when the deal is active. You’ll need to show this code to your server when you pay for your meal.

You won’t be able to claim your free snowball dough balls through delivery or collection.

Diners also can’t exchange the snow dough balls for regular garlic dough balls.

But the good news is that you’ll be able to get a free portion of snow dough balls for every person on your table, providing each person has purchased a main.

We’ve asked Pizza Express how much the snowball dough balls usually cost, and how many customers get.

But in previous years, customers have paid £4.40 for a portion of eight balls.

The Sun is also checking if any restaurants, or any main meals, are excluded from the deal.

Zoe Bowley, managing director at Pizza Express said: “Whilst our doors might have been closed throughout November, we’ve continued to do all we can to serve our customers their favourite pizzas at home.

“It’s been a challenging year for us all, which is why we’re looking forward to safely welcoming families and households into our pizzerias once again for good times and great food this Christmas.”

This isn’t the first time Pizza Express has given away free snowball dough balls.

It’s also previously sold them for £1 to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

But in not-so-good news for Pizza Express fans, the pizza chain announced it was axing 1,300 jobs.
