People are only just realising little-known feature can get you free delivery on Deliveroo.

Those with an Amazon Prime membership can get Deliveroo Plus for free for one year with their subscription.

The offer isn’t new but some customers have only just discovered it’s available.

Posting on Facebook one Amazon Prime member said: “Not sure how many people know about this already as I only just found out…

“But Amazon Prime members get 12 months free of Deliveroo Plus, giving you money off food orders!”

If you’re an Amazon Prime customer then you can get free Deliveroo Plus for one year.

You can sign up via Deliveroo and go to: http://deliveroo.co.uk/amazon-prime.

Deliveroo Plus gives customers the chance to get free unlimited delivery.

There are two tiers customers can choose from – the gold tier costs £7.99 a month and gives customers free delivery on all orders over £10.

While the silver option costs £3.49 a month but there’s a catch and shoppers need to spend at least £25 to qualify free delivery.

The Amazon offer gives customers the silver membership – by using the offer you’d be saving £41.88 for the year.

If you’re not already an Amazon Prime member then you can sign up to get the Deliveroo offer.

A Prime membership costs £8.99 a month or £95 a year, while student membership fees are £4.49 a month or £47.49 per year.

You can sign up to Prime by creating an Amazon account and selecting the Prime option.

If you have an account already, then you can also change your membership to Prime by heading to your account settings.

How can I save money on takeaways?

Food delivery apps have made it easier than ever to order a takeaway or your supermarket essentials.

And using a few tricks, you can also save a little extra cash.

Just Eat and Deliveroo offer money off on selected days every week.

If you’re ordering food on a Tuesday, try Just Eat as the app gives 20% off a range of selected restaurants, including Greggs, Zizzi, Krispy Kreme and Pret, as well as local independents.

If it’s a Thursday, you might be better off with Deliveroo, as customers can get 25% off the bill with participating local eateries.

Using takeaway apps needn’t mean loading up on junk food.

You can get 50% off fresh ingredients for salads, smoothies and veggie dishes on Mondays via Uber Eats.
