Avoid Wi-Fi nightmares once and for all

EE has shared four laptop problems that can give the impression your Wi-Fi is slow.

Running lots of apps at once

Having a huge amount of apps open at once will make your laptop work overtime.

So not only will your broadband seem slow, your machine will struggle to load anything.

To fix it, simply close as many of the programmes as possible and see if it makes a difference.

Not enough memory

Your laptop requires memory to function smoothly, with a feature known as Random Access Memory (RAM).

The more RAM you have, the better.

Closing programmes – as outlined above – will help.

But you can also do a disk clean-up too.

Search “Disk clean-up” on your laptop and tick all the boxes.

Then click Clean up system files.

Web browser add-ons

Web browser add-ons for apps like Chrome can be useful.

But they can also slow your browser down.

Consider removing any you don’t need and you might notice a speed boost.

Too many apps loading on start-up

Too many apps loading as soon as you start your laptop up can slow things down too.

Go into the settings of each app and switch off their ability to load on start-up.
