“[Blue light] will disrupt your melatonin production, making it more difficult to fall asleep,” neurobiologist and head of research at Emma sleep, Dr. Verena Senn told T3.

Therefore, it’s best to limit your usage of these devices to the daytime only.

Thankfully, there are a few iOS features that can you utilize to help you lessen your screen’s blue light.

Enable Night Mode

iPhone’s Night Mode is a handy tool that automatically adjusts your screen’s display.

During the nighttime, it changes all hues on your phone to warmer colors that help us sleep better.

And then, in the morning, the display returns back to its normal settings.

You can turn this feature on in your Settings > Display & Brightness > Night Shift.

Reduce white point

Users can also lower the white point on their iPhone to adjust lower the intensity of colors.

In the nighttime, bright lights can be just as bad for you as blue light because they wake our brains up.

You can fix this by heading to your iPhone’s Settings.

From there, go to Accessibility > Display & Text Size and toggle on Reduce White Point.

Lower brightness

If you don’t want to make the hues on your phone warmer, there is a way to just make your screen dimmer.

To do this, Open Control Center by swiping down from the top of your screen.

From there, locate the “sun” icon and then drag the slider to a point where your eyes can still comfortably see.

You can also adjust this by going to Settings > Display & Brightness > drag the slider.
