JANUARY is known as a quiet month for new releases, and that’s equally true for video games.

While there are some big releases coming out this month, such as Prince of Persia and The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered, it’s one of the quieter parts of the year.

That’s why it’s the perfect time to pick up some bargains to get to playing some excellent games that are already out.

Even better than a great deal is getting games for free, and luckily Epic Games Store has gamers covered.

Epic is giving away free games every day and has been for the last few weeks.

Usually Epic Games Store gives away a free game every week, but the giveaways have been ramped up over the holiday period.

More in Gaming Deals

For the next 24 hours PC gamers can pick up the award-winning A Plague Tale: Innocence for absolutely free.

And if you claim the game before the deadline, then you can claim and keep it for life.

The blurb reads: “Follow the grim tale of young Amicia and her little brother Hugo, in a heartrending journey through the darkest hours of history.

“Hunted by Inquisition soldiers and surrounded by unstoppable swarms of rats, Amicia and Hugo will come to know and trust each other.

“As they struggle to survive against overwhelming odds, they will fight to find purpose in this brutal, unforgiving world.”

This is one of the best games offered for free via the Epic Games Store usually selling for £34.99.

You can claim it via the game’s store page on the Epic Games Store website or via the Epic Games Store Launcher.

It is only available until Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 4pm UK time, and after that, the offer will be gone for good.

The launcher is a free download and is required if you want to play the game, so it’s worth downloading it if you want to pick it up.
