THE company that owns Franco Manca and The Real Greek has been bought out in a £93million takeover deal.
Fulham Shore has been taken over by Japanese company Toridoll, which is worth £1.5billion and owns 5,500 stores globally.
Toridoll already runs the Marugame Udon, Shoryu and Wok to Walk chains in the UK.
It is also teaming up with Capdesia, the company that owns Wasabi Sushi and Bento, as part of the Fulham Shore deal.
Toridoll said there was “significant opportunity” to expand its presence in the UK after taking on the Real Greek and Franco Manca restaurants.
It comes as the business said its revenue reached record levels last year.
However, the coronavirus pandemic has seen the type of restaurant that performs well change, with those close to offices struggling for business.
Fulham Shore currently owns 27 Real Greeks and 70 Franco Mancas in the UK.
Franco Manca started as a pizzeria in Brixton Market, London, in 1986.
By 2008 it was taken over by Giuseppe Mascoli who gave it the Franco Manca name.
