Our Christmas feast was ruined when Morrisons gave us frozen turkey dinosaurs instead of festive bird

A FAMILY had their Christmas turkey feast ruined after Morrisons supermarket substituted the real bird with frozen Bernard Matthews dinosaur shapes.

Cassie Rule, 34, from Malvern, Worcestershire, planned to feed six people with the proper turkey.

But when her online order arrived Saturday evening she discovered to her horror that the order was short by one turkey joint costing £4.50.

Instead, her turkey had been replaced by £2.30 dinosaur shapes.

Beauty therapist Cassie and her son Charlie, 13 were devastated to find that their traditional Christmas dinner had been ruined.

Cassie now had to feed her family with the dinosaur shapes at Christmas instead of the turkey joint.

Cassie said: “We’re going to have to eat that is that is all we have now.

“I can’t spend Christmas Eve rushing around to find another turkey.

“It’s too late.”

Cassie added: “It just won’t be the same without a proper turkey.”

A spokesperson for Morrisons said: “We can see that a small turkey joint costing £4.50 (not £37) had been ordered by the customer and it was unfortunately unavailable for delivery on Saturday 23rd December and for this we apologise.

“We have no record of a large turkey being ordered by this customer and we do not sell Oakham turkeys which The Sun has reported to be the missing item.

“We are in touch with the customer directly to clarify the misunderstanding.”

It comes after another Sainsbury’s shopper had their turkey delivery cancelled on Christmas Eve.

Jack Rice ordered the bird and a ham for their festive feast – but was instead just given eight ham sandwich slices.

He had placed the order on December 3 – for a medium turkey crown and a  £10 Sainsbury’s Brunswick British ham joint.

The 900g ham was replaced with two four-packs of Sainsbury’s Taste The Difference breaded Yorkshire cured cooked British ham slices, weighing 120g.

But for the 2kg turkey, Sainsbury’s said they were unable to find a suitable replacement.

Meanwhile multiple families have had their Christmas dinner ruined after finding out the turkeys they had bought from the supermarket were “rancid” and “slimy”.

Brits have been left devastated after finding their festive meat in poor condition and inedible.

Aldi, Sainsbury’s and Asda shoppers have all launched complaints ahead of cooking Christmas dinner.

A warning has also been issued to any households cooking turkey for Christmas.

The equivalent of several million blocks of butter could block up drains if Brits do not dispose of their Christmas cooking fat properly.

Water companies spend millions each year clearing hundreds of thousands of Christmas blockages.
