THIS ordinary-looking home complete with a chapel has gone on the market for £760,000 – but it comes with a deathly secret too.

Boasting three bedrooms and a whopping seven bathrooms, it’s hard to imagine why this huge house incorporates such a strange selection of spaces.

But despite still easily blending in amongst the suburbs, this two-storey property is more peculiar than it is plain.

The 7,612 sqft home in Lancaster, California, was formerly a FUNERAL HOME – but is now going under the hammer.

Savvy house-hunters may be able to spot a string of distinct features hinting to its eerie past – whereas others may prefer to turn a blind eye to its grim history.

Previously named Mumaw Funeral Home, the main clue is the full-size chapel situated inside, which is kitted out with numerous pews and an altar.

Even the narrow corridors provide an inkling of the true purpose of this building, as they are furnished with various seating options sporting a string of garish patterns only funeral homes can get away with.

Built in 1949, the historical home does offer heaps of potential as it has 32 different rooms to make use of.

The listing describes the “unique” property as “perfect for investors” as its diverse structure creates endless possibilities.

As well as the creepy elements such as embalming rooms, the building includes several offices and even a studio apartment upstairs.

Its traditional exterior conceals an abundance of rooms, which estate agents Zillow say makes it the “perfect office building” or home for “multi-family units.”

With a five-car and three-car garage, carport and TWO adjacent car parks to choose from, there’s enough room for everyone.

Although the business is not for sale, the listing explains the property could also be used as a church by potential buyers.

And despite the exact detail of Mumaw Funeral Home’s exploits not being listed, it is known as a popular location for the funerals of notable local figures.

So if you can stomach the history behind the home and have a spare £760,000, this may be the perfect place for you.

BROUGHT BACK TO LIFE

We previously told how a Massachusetts couple knowingly snapped up a funeral home to renovate – before discovering their new home was in fact a hospital in the 1900s.

Mike and Robin Legere were so taken aback by the rich history of the place, they decided to share their intriguing story on social media.

And another pair bought a 98-year-old mortuary to fix up into a family home – and found a creepy hidden room.

The concealed space in a basement was where bodies were embalmed and was even equipped with a drain in the floor leading directly to a sewer with hooks.

But if you are still looking for your dream funeral home to do up, this one in Swansea could be the perfect pad for you.

It was put on the market for just £45,000, but it’s a big undertaking for any DIY enthusiast as the property has fallen into a state of disrepair – filled with rubbish and missing even the basics.

Estate agents even say it is just too dangerous to look around inside because of the parlour’s parlous state – but it can be brought back to life.
