EPIC Games Store gives away free games every week, and this week is a game everyone should try.

Previous games include smash hits such as Death Stranding and Fallout New Vegas.

This one has flown a little under the radar but got impressive scores on review aggregator sites such as Metacritic and OpenCritic.

Scoring 81 and 84, everyone who had a chance to dive in would recommend this one.

Grime is a 2D soulslike metroidvania, where you explore the world and engage in challenging but fair combat.

Mistakes are heavily punished, but there is plenty of space for learning and improving your skills.

As you defeat different enemies, you will absorb their powers, giving you more ways to build out your character.

Unlike other games in the soulslike genre, as a 2D metroidvania there is also puzzle solving and platforming involved.

Your weapons are built of living creatures, and can mutate during combat to give you different attacks.

Called “brutal” and “unforgiving”, it’s not a game for the faint of heart.

However, as it is free to download, anyone can give it a try and see if they like it.

Once you download Grime, you’ll be able to keep it for life, so it’s worth downloading just to keep.

It is playable on any Windows PC, and you can download it straight to your computer.

You will need to download the Epic Games Launcher in order to play, but with new free games every week, it’s worth having.

While there are a huge number of discounted games currently available for PC via Steam, this offer is even better.

On Steam, you can pick up games for pennies from the Steam Summer Sale, but not many are given away for free.

Grime will be available until Thursday, July 13, 2023, so grab your copy while you have the chance.
