SHOPPERS can’t get enough of an Easter egg that’s based on an iconic sweet.

Retailers have already started shifting chocolate eggs ahead of the spring holiday – and one in particular is catching Tesco customers’ eyes.

The supermarket is selling a new Skittles box set, featuring a large milk chocolate egg and pack of the iconic rainbow-themed sweets.

Facebook page Newsfoodsuk shared a photo of the snack yesterday, and hundreds of users have liked and commented on the post since.

One said: “My mum got one for my brother on Friday for Easter as my brother is obsessed with Skittles.”

Another said: “Want this Easter egg,” while a third commented: “Yummy yum.”

A fourth and fifth simply added: “Oh my,” and “I want it!”

The 195g Easter egg, which comes in at 774 calories, is currently on sale on Tesco’s website for £3.

We have asked the retailer how many stores it is available at and will update this story when we have heard back.

Remember though, when buying something like this, to always shop around to see if any other retailers are selling it, and if you’re getting the best deal.

We had a quick look to see if any other retailers are selling the Skittles Easter egg, and found two.

Both Sainsbury’s and Ocado have the sweet treat in stock, but for £3.25 and £5.70 respectively.

It comes after Quality Street fans were left proclaiming “I’m so ready” after spotting one of its Easter eggs on B&M’s shelves.

Meanwhile, the KitKat Incredible Caramel Cookie Collision Easter Egg is back on retailer’s shelves, much to the delight of fans.

And shoppers have been left shouting “I’ll buy a whole shelf full” after spotting a Terry’s Chocolate Orange Easter egg on Tesco’s shelves.

How to save money at Easter

Plenty of restaurants, pubs and retailers usually offer meal deals for families during the Easter holidays, including Morrisons, Bella Italia and Beefeater.

It’s not clear which ones will be offering discounts this year, but it’s worth keeping an eye out on social media for any promotions.

Or if you’ve got any leftover chocolate Easter eggs, trying melting them down and turning them into rice crispy cakes or another sweet snack.
