NINTENDO Switch owners can turn their consoles into a VR headset without “shelling out hundreds” on a Meta Quest.

The virtual reality (VR) headset, designed by London-based tech accessories brand Orzly, is compatible with both Nintendo Switch and Switch OLED consoles.

It has an adjustable, high-definition lens, that reviewers say is “brilliant” for virtual reality gaming.

The Nintendo eShop hosts Hulu, YouTube and Crunchyroll apps, meaning users can even use it for the ultimate cinema experience, too.

Orzly’s headset is miles more affordable than a new Meta Quest 2, which are on sale for roughly £250.

In contrast, the headset is currently available on Amazon for £39.99.

So it could be a good Christmas gift alternative.

“Having loads of fun with this! Yes there are many better VR experiences out there but you’ll be shelling out hundreds of pounds,” one five-star reviewer on Amazon wrote.

“This is perfect for a good bit of fun and a great price point.

“If you own a switch and are even slightly interested you have to give it a go!

“I’m really hoping Nintendo release more games that support VR but until they do there are loads of stuff on YouTube… Who doesn’t want to try that.”

However, several reviews have urged Nintendo to introduce more VR games.

“My son is one happy boy. He loves this VR headset.

“There are only a handful of switch games that are VR compatible but as far as the VR headset goes, it was a brilliant buy,” a second reviewer on Amazon wrote.

Another added: “The headset is great. Very comfortable to wear. Only disappointment is that Nintendo don’t have more compatible games.

“I’ve used it on the Captain Toad and Mario Odyssey games – the Captain Toad levels are particularly good (shame it’s not the whole game).”

‘Best Switch travel case on the market’

Nintendo Switch owners can also get their hands on a hard shell travel case for their console and up to 20 game cartridges for under a £10 this Christmas.

It’s a perfect stocking filler – or a wise purchase before any trips during the winter holidays.

The Amazon Prime exclusive deal lists the case for just £9.99.

However, it is £12.99 for non-Prime members.

The case is compatible with both Switch and Switch OLED devices.

And the hard shell case gives the pricey console a decent level of protection when gamers are on-the-go.

It can fit the console, Joy-Con controllers, chargers, earphones, and a whole library of games.
