NINTENDO has just announced that another free game is coming to Switch.

Following on from the success of Super Mario Bros. Wonder, another Mario game is coming to the hybrid console.

While it was announced earlier this year, fans have been waiting patiently for a release date.

Mario Party 3 is launching October 27, 2023, on Nintendo Switch Online’s higher tier.

As an N64 game, it’s only available for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers, but if you are a member of this tier, you can play completely free.

Mario Party is a long running series where you play with up to four people as various Mario characters on a giant board game.

More in Mario

Between turns you play from a selection of fun mini-games adding skill to the luck-based rolls of the dice.

Players are particularly excited as Mario Party 3 is thought to be the best game in the series, with player-favourite mini-games and board layouts.

There are six different game boards, including Chilly Waters, Deep Bloober Sea, Spiny Desert, Woody Woods, Creepy Cavern, and Waluigi’s Island.

It also includes 70 mini-games, so each playthrough feels different.

Each playthrough only takes around an hour, but the fun comes in gathering your friends together.

With gameplay like stealing stars from friends, and beating them out of mini games, Mario Party is one of the games that turn friends into enemies.

You will be able to play in local co-op with friends, so only one person will need a subscription so that everyone can play.

When docked, the board will display on the screen, and each player can use a single Joy-Con to play the game.

People will be able to dive into Mario Party 3 by downloading the N64 app on their Switch.

From there you can open the app and choose Mario Party 3 in order to play.

If you have subscriptions of other consoles, check out the games coming to Xbox Game Pass in October.
