NEXT is offering VIP shoppers the chance to beat the crowds with 45 minute appointments to browse the sale in stores.

The high street retailer has contacted customers that have used its Nextpay credit scheme with an early access invitation.

Nextpay customers have been invited to the in-store sale event today, where prices have been slashed by 50%, and are allowed to bring one guest each.

Don’t rush into taking out a store credit card though.

The interest rates can be very high, so make sure you can pay them off in full each month.

Otherwise the amount you pay in interest could wipe out any savings you make in the sale.

How to make the most of the Next sale

THESE tips from a Next employee can help you make sure you bag the best bargains when the sale launches.

  1. Familiarise yourself with the stock – check in store and online to see what items you might fancy, that means you’ll be able to act fast once prices start dropping.
  2. Check online – often the sale launches online before stores open so go digital to get the best bargains.
  3. Consider the VIP scheme  – if you have a credit account you can get access to the sale before the general public.
  4. Choose the right store – smaller outlets are likely to be less rammed, so you may have less competition for deals.
  5. Shop late in the day – around two hours before closing, staff start replenishing stock for the next day, so this is a great time to hit the stores.
  6. Look at ticket codes – if you’re in a Next keep an eye out for black dots on tickets; chances are that means an item is going to be discounted, so you’re better off waiting till the price drops.
  7. Homeware and women’s clothing sells fastest – so you might want to get to stores first thing for these items.

The slots are 45 minutes long, and will allow shoppers to avoid the queues when Next officially launches the sale.

Slots had limited availablity and were being offered on a first come, first served basis.

Next has not yet responded to queries about how many slots are left.

The retailer has held online early access sales in the past, but it is thought that this is the first time it has offered an in-store preview.

At least one of the sale events is being held this evening between 7pm and 10pm, but it’s not clear whether there are other time slots open throughout the day.

The retailer has also not yet confirmed which Next branches are taking part in the early access events.

We have asked Next for more details and will update this article when the retailer responds.

To access the early sale, you need to follow the link that was sent to you via email and sign up for a 45 minute slot.

You will have to show a copy of the invitation email when you arrive at the store.

VIP shoppers have also been given the option to shop the sale early online, with the invitations going out this week.

Next hasn’t confirmed when the sale will be open to the general public, but it is expected to launch tomorrow morning.

This is because the online early access sale comes to an end in the early hours of Saturday.

The retailer was also hiring extra casual staff to help out during the sale, which the advert said began on July 10, MoneySavingExpert reported.
