Next reopening plans explained as it launches HUGE sale online

NEXT will limit the number of shoppers allowed in stores at one time under plans to reopen when lockdown restrictions ease.

The fashion and homeware chain is planning on bringing back Covid secure rules for when non-essential retail in England is allowed to reopen from April 12.

This includes capping the number of people allowed in a store in one go – the maximum number varies depending on the size of the store.

A marshall will be stationed at the entrances to monitor numbers and it will operate an one-in-one-out policy at busier times.

Customers will also be able to clean their hands at sanitiser stations that will be dotted around the shop.

Stores have been given the go-ahead by the Government to stay open until 10pm from mid-April but Next has said currently plans are to run normal opening hours.

The fashion store has been closed since the start of the third national lockdown, back on January 5.

In some areas of England, shops have only been allowed to open for two weeks since November 5, because they were place in Tier 4 ahead of Christmas,

But it has been allowed to continue to stay open for click and collect as well as operate online.

The retailer launched its annual mid-season sale online last weekend to make room for new summer stock.

Next said that products that don’t sell out in the clearance sale will be available in stores, but it will vary by shop.

This is to make way for new summer stock, so you’ll need to be quick to get your hands on the top products – once they’ve sold out they won’t be replaced.

Next offers free delivery, or shoppers can pay £2 to choose the one hour delivery slot for home delivery.

Alternatively, customers can order their goods to be delivered to their nearest store for free through the click and collect service.
