A NEW discount store is set to open its doors this week – and it hopes to give B&M and Poundland a run for their money.

Value retail store The Quality Discounts group is set to unveil its latest store in Rayleigh, Essex on October 25.

The family-owned chain have already opened in five Essex towns, including Halstead, Clacton and Grays.

The Quality Discounts offer home, pets, furniture, grocery products and more, and have also started stocking a selection of exciting festive items as the run up to Christmas approaches.

The new 7500 square foot store will be officially opened on Wednesday by various councillors and local authority staff.

The retailer have also promised complimentary goody bags for the first 100 customers to walk through the doors of the Rayleigh branch.

Store Manager Kristian Timbrell says the location has gone all out to celebrate the opening.

He said: “We can’t wait to officially open our new store in Rayleigh on 25th October.

“The final preparations are being made, we’ve given the store a full fit-out, and there’s a fresh coat of paint in QD’s trademark red!

“We’re looking forward to welcoming customers and showing them fantastic quality, ever-changing deals and value guaranteed that they can expect here in Rayleigh.”
