FANS have been left saddened after learning Nestle will be axing another popular bar for good after 60 years.

The chocolatiers have announced they will be discontinuing the Animal bar which has been a fan favourite since 1963.

The mini chocolate bars were designed for children and come with a fun game inside the wrapper.

An Animal bar is usually designed with two different animals along with their names moulded on the surface of the chocolate.

Chocolate fans took to Facebook to share their despair after hearing the news.

One user said: “Sad they’ve discontinued these. My kids loved them when they were small.”

Another said: “Isn’t it mental that they are discontinuing something so popular.”

“They’re gluten free so I use them as well. Gutted,” claimed a third.

A fourth user said: “Oh crap! I love these I may have to stock up.”

Someone else added: “I can’t remember the last time I saw an Animal bar.”

This comes after Nestle recently confirmed they would be discontinuing the Caramc bar after 60 years

The iconic flavour came into play in the late 1950s with other variations making their way onto shop shelves too including a limited edition Caramac Kit Kat bar and Caramac buttons.

A Nestle spokesperson told The Sun: “We are very sorry to disappoint fans of Caramac. There has been a steady decline in its sales over the past few years and we had to make the difficult decision to discontinue it.

“We know fans will be disappointed to see it go, but this change will enable us to focus on our best-performing brands, as well as develop exciting new innovations to delight our consumers’ tastebuds.”

If you are looking to get an Animal milk chocolate bar before they are gone for good, a few retailers still have them in stock.

Tesco has one of the 19g bars for 25p in stores and online. B&M also stocks the bar for 29p.

Or you can head to Asda for a bar for a little bit more at 30p, the supermarket also had a multipack available but it looks like that is out of stock already.

There aren’t too many dupes of the Animal bar around, Cadbury’s does a Dairy Milk Furry friends assortment but you’re not likely to find these outside of Australia.

You can get multipacks of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Little Bars in supermarkets like Tesco’s for £1.25 but they won’t feature any animal designs.

The Animal bar has been added to a long list of many chocolate bars we’ll be saying goodbye to this year.

Chocolate fans are only just realising the iconic Topic bar is missing from shelves.

And Nestle fans have already claimed the chocolatier “ruined family desserts” by axing the beloved Carnation Extra Thick Cream.

Meanwhile, Cabury quietly scrapped the popular Dairy Milk 30 per cent less sugar bar earlier this year which is no longer available for purchase.

In other news, B&M shoppers are going wild for “delicious” hot chocolate based on iconic flavour.

Shoppers are going wild for a new Cadbury chocolate bar only previously available in Australia spotted on shop shelves.

Home Bargains shoppers have spotted another “delicious” new Snickers bar from the US on UK shelves.
